Whimsy Finder
A plain-English explanation of how Whimsy Finder uses information.
What we collect
When someone lists a puzzle, we collect their email address, country or general location, puzzle listing details and uploaded photographs.
When a buyer sends an enquiry, we collect their name, email address and message.
We also collect limited authentication, session and technical or security information needed to provide seller access, prevent spam and abuse, and protect the marketplace from unauthorised access.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Publish and manage puzzle listings.
- Allow sellers to securely manage their listings using email-based sign-in.
- Allow buyers to enquire about listed puzzles.
- Review and administer marketplace enquiries.
- Send necessary transactional emails.
- Prevent spam, abuse and unauthorised access.
Whimsy Finder does not currently use conventional password-based public user accounts. Sellers can securely access and manage their own listings using passwordless email sign-in links.
Connecting buyers and sellers
Seller email addresses are stored privately and are not displayed publicly on puzzle listings.
When a buyer makes an enquiry, Whimsy Finder may provide the buyer's name, email address and message to the relevant seller so they can communicate about the puzzle.
Whimsy Finder reviews and manages enquiries as part of operating the marketplace.
Service providers
Whimsy Finder uses third-party service providers for website hosting, database and photograph storage, and transactional email delivery. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.
Resend is used to deliver transactional emails, such as seller sign-in links, listing confirmations and marketplace notifications. Marketplace personal information is not provided to these services for Whimsy Finder marketing.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information and marketplace records only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and administer Whimsy Finder, maintain appropriate records and meet applicable obligations.
Information may then be deleted or de-identified where appropriate.
You can contact Whimsy Finder to ask about personal information held about you or request access, correction or deletion.
Some information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary to operate or secure the marketplace, maintain appropriate records or meet applicable obligations.
